William was not the first king of England, was not a rightful king of England, was not English and was arguably the most evil ruler the country has ever had.
Rad, William murdered over 5% of the English population. As far as I am aware, Gordon has no such plans.
Cromwell was not a republican, nor was he evil (accept in the eyes of Roman Catholics).
