What is the best english speaking province and city to live in Canada?
Posted by admin under Other - Canadakkool asked:
Hi,
Hi,
I’m currently planning to move to Canada. As a Project Management Professional, I’m doing a lot of research on not only locations (english speaking) with abundance of PM jobs but also locations that one could raise a family. I’ll rather go for a location good for raising a family as one could always work from home.

Biggest = Toronto
Best weather = anywhere in British Columbia
For raising a family = Regina, Saskatchewan

For the record, the only province you’ll have possible problems with speaking english is Quebec (and it’s not the case in downtown Montreal).
In my opinion, the best spot for both a PM (I am one), and a family, is Ottawa (of course I’m biased). It’s not as crazy with traffic and etc like Toronto and Vancouver, and has a large high-tech concentration (both private and with government).
It’s also a 2 hour drive from Montreal and the USA, and 4+ hours away from Toronto.
I’d also consider Calgary as an alternative as well (right next to the Rockies).
That being said, I think you’ll find most cities(and suburbia) in Canada are decent for raising families. I think it all comes down to what kind of pace/lifestyle you enjoy.

French is spoken in Quebec but not all of it. I would say the best province is New Brunswick and the best city is Fredericton.

St.John’s , Newfoundland and Labrador is the best place to raise a family, the whole province has only 600,000 people, very nice place to live.

MY TOWN - St Thomas, Ontario!
I live in St Thomas, Ontario and I love it here. I moved here from England almost thirty years ago and have never regretted moving to Canada. My children have better opportunities and a better standard of living than if I had stayed in the UK.
My children all own their own homes and are employed. Housing costs are still reasonable here with a detached home starting at $140,000 Canadian dollars, and you can have a detached house built for around $200,000 with a garage, three bedrooms, basement and a nice back yard.
You can learn more about this area of Southern Ontario at
There is info there about various towns, cities and small villages in the area, info about the cost of homes etc.
Good Luck with your decision!
